Position Summary
The Massage Therapist delivers safe, personalized, high-quality massage services that reflect Sauna House's commitment to hospitality, wellness, and guest care. Through clinical excellence and meaningful guest relationships, you help create an environment where every guest feels cared for, restored, and inspired to continue their wellness journey — while contributing to membership growth, guest loyalty, and the overall success of your location.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence & Guest Experience
- Deliver exceptional massage services that reflect Sauna House’s treatment philosophy, hospitality standards, and personalized guest care
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, ethics, clinical judgment, and scope of practice
- Listen actively, assess individual needs, and customize treatments that support each guest’s wellness journey
- Resolve guest questions and service concerns with professionalism and empathy, partnering with leadership when appropriate
Sales & Membership Growth
- Educate guests on memberships, massage services, wellness offerings, and self-care recommendations
- Recommend services and products based on each guest’s needs, preferences, and treatment goals
- Drive rebooking, membership conversion, and long-term loyalty through consistently exceptional treatments
- Participate in promotional campaigns, special events, and community initiatives
Operational Execution
- Arrive shift-ready and keep treatment rooms clean, stocked, sanitized, and presentation-ready for every guest
- Stay on time, minimize treatment delays, and communicate proactively about schedule changes or guest needs
- Maintain accurate, timely treatment documentation while protecting guest privacy and confidentiality
- Monitor supply levels and follow opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures
Program Quality & Standards
- Uphold Sauna House massage protocols, sanitation standards, company policies, and state licensing requirements
- Seek and apply coaching, feedback, and ongoing education to strengthen clinical skills and guest care
- Protect the quality, professionalism, and reputation of the Sauna House massage experience
Teamwork & Communication
- Communicate effectively with the Lead Massage Therapist, location leadership, Guest Service Coordinators, and fellow therapists
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to support a seamless guest journey from arrival through departure
- Participate in team meetings and training, and contribute ideas that improve treatment quality and the guest experience
- Demonstrate flexibility by supporting operational needs and adapting to changing business priorities
What We're Looking For
- Active Massage Therapist license in good standing in the state of employment, maintained throughout employment
- Current professional liability insurance, or the ability to obtain coverage prior to employment
- 2+ years of professional massage therapy experience in a spa, wellness, hospitality, or clinical setting preferred — recent graduates with exceptional interpersonal skills and a hospitality-first mindset are encouraged to apply
- Ability to build rapport, communicate treatment recommendations effectively, and create personalized wellness experiences
- Ownership mindset with a hospitality-first mentality — humble, adaptable, and confident
- Strong emotional intelligence, communication skills, attention to detail, and time management
- Commitment to continuous growth — actively seeks feedback and refines clinical skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check in accordance with applicable laws and company policy
How Success Is Measured
The Massage Therapist is accountable for two primary outcomes: Guest Experience and Top-Line Revenue — supported by metrics including guest satisfaction and online reviews, rebooking rate, membership conversion, massage revenue and utilization, treatment quality and safety/sanitation compliance, training completion, and availability, attendance, and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform massage therapy for up to 5 consecutive sessions while maintaining proper body mechanics and professional technique
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; frequently bend, kneel, reach, stretch, and perform repetitive movements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and prepare treatment rooms, including changing linens, stocking supplies, and cleaning equipment
- Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, and wet environments associated with the Sauna House experience

Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $17 per service hour, plus additional pay for every massage performed and 100% of gratuities.
