OverviewAs a Principal Video Engineer at Transmit, you'll play a pivotal role in architecting and developing cutting-edge solutions to enhance our dynamic OTT streaming platform. With a focus on video processing and encoding, you'll lead the charge in optimizing performance, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality content to users.Responsibilities- Lead the design and architectural decisions for advanced video processing and encoding solutions using FFmpeg and its libraries such as libavcodec, libavformat, libavutil, libavfilter, libswscale, and libswresample.- Set strategic direction for the development and optimization of encoding configurations using libraries like x264, x265, libvpx, libaom, libopus, libvorbis, libmp3lame, and libfdk-aac.- Champion the development of high-performance video streaming technologies for HLS and MPEG-DASH.- Provide thought leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.- Evaluate and integrate emerging video codecs like AV1 and explore new technologies in video processing to maintain and extend industry leadership.- Define best practices and standards for video processing and ensure compliance with industry quality and security benchmarks.Qualifications- 10 years of experience in video processing technology.- Extensive experience with FFmpeg and a thorough understanding of its core libraries and functionalities.- Proficiency in video and audio codecs, with a strong track record of implementing efficient solutions in large-scale environments.- Strong knowledge of DRM.- Expertise in programming with C/C++ and scripting with Python, JavaScript, or Bash.- Demonstrated ability in leading large technical projects and teams, with a focus on innovation and achieving business objectives.- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
